About the company

My client, a forwarding thinking family run media agency is looking for a Senior Accounts Assistant to join their vibrant team offering full study support and opportunities for progression. They have offices across Europe and due to new business gained moving into 2020 the Finance Manager is expanding their team of 4 in the London office. The role intends to become a senior member of staff within 6 months so a candidate who wishes to progress at a fast pace is ideal.

What you will be doing?

Reporting into the Finance Manager you will be working on:

  • Daily management of purchase and sales ledger via Sage
  • Month-end bookkeeping and monthly balance sheet reconciliation
  • Support managers with new finance procedures and controls
  • Resolving all queries from suppliers/clients
  • Shadowing senior staff across management accounts activities
  • Submitting VAT returns to HMRC

Essential skills/experience

  • 2-3 years’ experience in media agency transactional accountancy role
  • Month-end process and reporting to executives
  • Experience across sales and/or purchase ledger
  • Managing multiple supplier/client accounts
  • High value bank reconciliation
  • Exposure to preparing and processing payment runs
  • Intermediate Excel skills (pivot tables and v-Lookups)

Desirable skills/experience

  • Studying AAT/ACCA/CIMA
  • Experience assisting qualified accountants
  • Experience working to tight deadlines
